Dave Dombrowski: Less Teams Willing To Trade Players With Second Wild Card

Boston Red Sox director of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski chatted with reporters before Tuesday’s game against the Texas Rangers about how active the team might be before the non-waiver trade deadline.

But one potential problem facing the Red Sox is how many clubs still might be in the playoff race.

“I do think that one thing’s a little different because more teams are closer to the wild card, and this has not changed since the last couple of years where there was a big change, there’s a lot fewer clubs that are willing to trade players because they feel they have some shot at the wild card ,” Dombrowski said on NESN’s “Red Sox First Pitch.”
