Lionel Messi And Father Given 21-Month Jail Sentence In Tax Fraud Case

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his father, Jorge Horácio Messi, finally received their sentence in a tax fraud case in a Barcelona court. The two were found guilty of three different tax fraud charges and sentenced to 21-months in prison. However, it is highly unlikely that either Messi or his father will see prison time.

According to Spanish-law, any prison sentence of less than two years can be served on probation, in addition the Messi’s still have the opportunity to appeal the case to the Spanish supreme court.
