Former New England Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner is under investigation in California after being accused of assaulting his child’s grandfather, TMZ Sports reported Wednesday.
According to the report, which cited law enforcement sources, Browner and the father of his child’s mother were arguing outside a Pomona, Calif., home Tuesday night when the defensive back “became violent and attacked (the other man) in the driveway.”
Browner allegedly drove away from the scene before police arrived, and the alleged victim filed a police report.
Browner, 31, spent the 2014 season in New England, playing in nine games and making 25 tackles for a Patriots squad that defeated his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, in Super Bowl XLIX. He then struggled though a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints — setting the single-season NFL record for penalties by a player — before rejoining the Seahawks on a one-year contract in April.
