David Price appeared to have rebounded from an up-and-down start to the season, but his last two outings before Tuesday’s game against the Texas Rangers didn’t go according to plan.
The first of those two starts also came against the Rangers, who he lasted 2 1/3 innings against before being pulled.
“Location more than anything else (was the issue against the Rangers),” NESN’s Steve Lyons said on “Red Sox Gameday Live.” “Most of the season we’ve talked a lot about velocity that it’s been down. Occasionally he’ll have that velocity, but it doesn’t really matter if you don’t pinpoint your location, and I don’t think that’s what he had in his last start. Everything was out over the middle of the plate, and you can not do that to Texas hitters.”
